The multidisciplinary approach combines detailed accident investigation with a neuropathological analysis of the injury to the brain. A pedestrian accident model using the MADYMO crash victim simulation package is being developed to be used as an aid in classifying the type and severity of the head impact. Two pedestrian cases are presented with details of the simulation and the neuropathology procedures. The direction of further development of the model is described. | Report Number | SAE 850093 | Publisher | Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc. | Publisher City | Warrendale, Pennsylvania | ISBN | 0898837200 | Conference Name | Field Accidents: data collection, analysis, methodologies, and crash injury reconstructions P.159 | Conference Abbreviation | SAE | Conference Location | Detroit, Michigan, USA | Conference Date | 25 February -1 March 1985 | Page Range | 65-79 | Page Count | 15 | Notes | available from CASR library on request |
