These estimates will be used in physical tests to obtain force estimates, so that the relationship between head impact forces and the resulting brain damage can be investigated. The MADYMO computer model is based upon published human joint data and the body geometry of the cadaver, with modifications to the models used in previous studies in order to reproduce important behavioural characteristics evident in pedestrian impacts. Position and joint orientation information is obtained by examining injuries evident on the cadaver, damage to the vehicle involved, and eye-witness, police, and medical reports. | Publisher | Taymar Research & Development Services | Publisher City | Wheelers' Hill | Conference Name | 1997 Australian MADYMO Users meeting | Conference Location | Melbourne, Australia | Conference Date | 4 April 1997 | Page Count | 12 | Notes | available from CASR library on request |
