TitleData collection and analysis of vehicle factors in relation to pedestrian brain injury
AuthorsMcLean AJ, Kloeden CN, Anderson RWG, Baird RP, Farmer MJB
Year1996
TypeConference Paper
AbstractThis paper relates the severity of brain injuries in fatal pedestrian collisions to relevant characteristics of the head impact locations on the striking cars. Based on cases in which there was no significant impact to the head from contact with the road, the correlation of the nature and severity of the impact to the head with the characteristics of the injury to the brain yields information which is relevant to the assessment of the brain injury potential of head impact locations on passenger cars.
