AbstractHead injury is the leading cause of death in road crashes. There is also evidence that the total cost of head injuries is very much greater than that of injuries to any other body region. About half of the total cost attributed to head injury is due to cases of concussion, which is often considered to be a relatively minor injury with minimal long term consequences.
