This work was funded by the Office of Road Safety of the Commonwealth Department of Transport and by the Australian Road Research Board. These cases have been chosen to illustrate the ways in which the various categories of road user sustain head injuries and t o form a basis for brief discussions of the possibilities for the prevention of such injuries. While the mechanism of injury may often be peculiar to the road traffic accident situation, an attempt has been made t o emphasise the basic principles underlying the search for possible preventive measures. These principles are, of course, of more general relevance to the prevention of head injury. | Publisher | Road Accident Research Unit | Publisher City | Adelaide | Conference Name | Head Injury Symposium | Conference Location | Sydney, Australia | Conference Date | 26-27 April 1979 | Page Count | 7 |
