The increase in the level of enforcement was accompanied by intensive publicity. A roadside breath alcohol survey was conducted to evaluate the effect of these changes. There was a reduction of 34% in the proportion of drivers with a blood alcohol level at or above the legal limit of 0.08g/100mL. | Sponsor | National Safety Council | Conference Name | 11th International Conference on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety | Conference Abbreviation | ICADTS - T89 | Conference Location | Chicago, USA | Conference Date | 24-27 October 1989 | Page Range | 721-727 | Page Count | 7 | Notes | available from CASR library on request |
