TitleThe Exponent of the Dependence of Impact Force on Impact Velocity
AuthorsHutchinson TP
Year2020
TypeJournal Article
AbstractInjury may result if the head is struck by a projectile (e.g., a nonlethal weapon or a sports ball), even if the projectile is of small mass and has a soft exterior. Some theory is available concerning the dependence of maximum force on the impact velocity and mass of the projectile. In light of that, comments are made on recently published data.
