Neurotrauma causes 21% of all deaths in Australians under the age of 45, and is now the leading single cause of death in this age group. Road accidents account for the majority of these injuries: a recent survey showed that in one Australian state, 66% of all deaths from neurotrauma resulted from road accidents [4]. As this percentage indicates, Australia's road toll is high by world standards. | Journal Title | Surgical Neurology | Journal Volume (Issue) | 29(2) | Page Range | 166-167 | Page Count | 2 |
