AbstractIn October 1981 randan breath testing (RBT) by the police commenced in South Australia. The NH&MRC Road Accident Research Unit was contracted by the State Government to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. This paper addresses three side-effects of RBT which became apparent through the course of our evaluation (1).
