AbstractPredictors of alcohol dependence were investigated in a clinical sample of 59 women in inpatient alcohol treatment in Adelaide and in a similar number of matched controls. The strongest statistical predictors of alcohol dependence were high depression, smoking, sex-role identity conflict and non-positive perception of mother's personality.
