AbstractSlipping and sliding on an emulsion of petrol and detergent, interviewing a driver in a pub over a beer, and being licked by guard dogs, these experiences have become routine for the members of the University of Adelaide's Road Accident Research Unit, who are working on one of the largest at-the-scene studies of road accidents yet conducted in Australia. The University has a contract to collect information relating to accident and injury causation in four hundred accidents during a twelve month period in metropolitan Adelaide. The funds of over a third of a million dollars are being provided by the Commonwealth. Department of Transport and the Australian Road Research Board.
