AbstractA review of 63 cases of acute subdural haematona (ASDH) is presented and the patholqy, mechanism and correlation of the two are discussed. On the basis of operative findings the cases were divided into those due to venous bleeding, arterial bleeding, contusion/laceration and those in which no active bleeding was seen. The results of an anatomical study of the subdural bridging structures are also discussed. Portions of the work have been submitted for publication elsewhere.
