TitleEvaluation of a road safety program for automotive apprentices
AuthorsHolubowycz OT, McLean AJ
Year1980
TypeReport
AbstractA road safety course for automotive apprentices was evaluated by comparing the changes in rates of accidents and moving violations and in attitudes to and knowledge of road safety practices of a group that was required to take the course with the corresponding changes in a group that was not offered the course. Participation in the course was associated with a reduction in the frequency of moving violations compared to the experience of the control group but with a reduction in accident rate that was less than that of the controls. Apart from one item there was no relative change in attitudes to, or knowledge of, road safety practices that could be attributed to the course.
