In March 2026, the Adelaide University Centre for Automotive Safety Research conducted an observational study to examine e‑scooter usage patterns and the prevalence of non‑compliant behaviours.
Passive observations were undertaken for two hours during both the morning and afternoon peak periods at eight locations across the Adelaide CBD. A total of 208 e‑scooter riders were observed. Data collected included rider characteristics (hire or private, gender) and any non‑compliant behaviours (helmet use, mobile phone use, and passenger carriage). | | Publisher | Centre for Automotive Safety Research | | Publisher City | Adelaide | | Page Count | 1 |
