AbstractSince the last Head Injury Seminar meeting which was held in December 1985 in Adelaide, organised by Tom Gibson actually, our unit had put out literature on head and neck injury to passenger car occupants which contains much of what I will be referring to briefly this morning. What I intend to do is very briefly and its probably most superfluous, make a case for the importance of head injury. I think it's something that is accepted probably by everybody here. I will also comment on some reasons why we are not seeing the progress in accident injury reduction that we might hope for and just touch very briefly and not at great length on some ways in which injury might be reduced.
