AbstractIn 2001, the Motor Accident Commission (MAC) sponsored a trial of a comparatively inexpensive form of audio tactile raised pavement marker as a fatigue driving countermeasure on the Dukes Highway east of Keith, South Australia. MAC has asked the Centre for Automotive Safety Research (CASR) to comment on the relevance of this treatment including its compliance with road design rules, its cost effectiveness when compared to other treatments and any safety issue with their use.
