TitleThe role of traffic planning and management in road safety
AuthorsMcLean AJ
Year1987
TypePresentation
AbstractRoad traffic accidents account for more lives lost up to middle age than any other single cause of death in Australia. Almost half of the deaths among 15-24 year old males occur on our roads. Because of the concentration of road accident fatalities among the young the years of life lost from road traffic accidents is even more impressive when compared with diseases such as heart disease and cancer which occur mostly in the latter part of the normal life span.
