TitleThe influence of amphometer tubes on vehicle speeds
AuthorsMoore VM, Dolinis J
Year1994
TypeReport
AbstractThis paper examines the effect of the presence of amphometer tubes on vehicle speeds. Experiments were conducted at three sites in metropolitan Adelaide, one in each of a 60, 80, and 100 km/h speed zone. At each site, unobtrusive measurements of speeds were made by radar before the drivers could be aware of the tubes, then the speeds of these same vehicles were recorded as they crossed the tubes. Little or no influence of the visible speed measurement device on vehicle speeds was found.
