All foreign visitors entering Australia must possess a visa and a valid passport with an expiry date of more than 6 months after the date of expected departure from Australia. Visa applications should be made to The Australian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission in your home country prior to departure. (Most holders of New Zealand passports do not require a visa to enter Australia)

Intending delegates should also note that a departure tax of AUD$27 is payable in Australian currency and is levied on all persons aged 12 years and over.
Adelaide Airport
The Adelaide Airport, situated only 7km from the central business district, major hotels and the Adelaide Convention Centre, caters for both international and domestic arrivals and departures from two separate terminals, 1km apart.
Currency exchange can be effected at the International Terminal or SAPMEA can arrange transactions or travellers' cheque encashment through its own Travel Agency or at the registration desk for the Conference.
Please note that a customs declaration is required at any point of entry into Australia. Further note that the limit of free entry per person for alcohol and cigarettes is: 1 litre of wine or spirit and 250g or 250 cigarettes. Fur apparel is not permitted entry.
Please note that items of clothing and accessories made from endangered species (including snake and lizard skins) may be confiscated. We recommend that you contact the customs or parks and wildlife service in your country for more detailed information.
Transfers
A "City to Airport" mini-bus runs between the airport and major hotels every half hour between 7.00am and 9.30pm at a cost of about AUD$5. Taxis will cost about AUD$13. There is no public transport to or from the airport.
Banking, Currency, Local Taxes and Tipping
Banks are open Monday to Thursday from 9.30am to 4.00pm and from 9.30am to 5.00pm on Fridays. Currency denominations are: Coins - 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1, $2; Notes - $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100.
There is no federal or state tax on any goods or services. What you are billed for is what you pay.
Tipping is uncommon and unexpected in Australia. It is only offered after exceptional service and may be between 5% and 10% of the total bill. Remember, it is not expected, hence you should offend no-one if you don't!

The maximum daily temperature in Adelaide during August is typically 16 degrees C (61 degrees F) and tends to range from 14C to 21C (57F - 70F). The minimum daily temperature ranges from 5C to 11C (41F - 52F). About half the days in August experience some rainfall.
