The Widmark Award
The Widmark Award was established in 1965 at Indiana University in honour of Professor Erik M. P. Widmark of the University of Lund in western Sweden, whose comprehensive research work during the first half of this century touched on all the aspects of the pharmacology of alcohol. The Award is the highest honour that the International Council can confer on individuals and organisations who have made outstanding contributions to our basic knowledge of the effects of alcohol and other mood-altering drugs on traffic safety.
